The lesson runs in two halves. The first half is real anthropology, where the goal is to move past the shock into the meaning. The second half is the mirror, where the kids name the modern versions of the same instinct. The point is to see that consumption is one of the oldest human acts, and the form has changed more than the impulse underneath it.
